Riley-Since posting this video, I’ve listened to an interview with Matt Cutts, from Google, and he noted that Google does a pretty good job finding good content in WordPress sites, even if you don’t add in this info. Your permalinks and page titles are most important. Some search engines, including Google, completely ignore keyword metadata. I think crafting your own description that shows up in web searches helps quite a bit though, it lets you summarize the content of a post or page, as opposed to just grabbing the first few sentences of a post–which for me may be more “setting the stage” for the info I’m going to share.
